CHRISTMAS
OUTREACH
There are a lot of children in Bedford County that will not have Christmas this year. Let's show them and their families the true meaning of Christmas.
Please Pick up a shoe box and directions in the hallway outside of Pastor John's office. Shoeboxes will be due November 23rd.
Let's make a difference in a child's life by sharing the
GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST.
You can use your own shoebox.
But Please follow the instruction below for the do and don't items.
HOW TO PACK YOUR SHOE BOX:
1 empty shoe box
Wrap it. Please wrap lid and the box separately.
Decide whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl and their age category: (2-4), (5-9), (10-14). use sticker provided or make your own and place on package
Fill the box with a variety of gifts using the list below as a guide. You may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family. (If you include your name and address, the child may write you back.)
Place filled shoe box on Christmas Outreach table by Nov. 23rd., 2008.
Suggested Gifts
Toys: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, plastic kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, small etch a sketch, toys that light up or make a noise (with extra battieries), slinky, etc.
School supplies: pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, coloring books, writing pads or paper, calculators, etc.
Hygiene items: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, comb, washcloth, etc.
Other: hard candy, lollipops, mints, gum, sunglasses, flashlights with extra batteries, ball caps, socks, T-shirts, toy jewelry sets, hair clips, watches, small picture books, ect.
DO NOT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
Toy guns, knives, or other war related items, chocolate or perishable items, liquids of any kind (shampoo, lotion, bubbles, ect.), used items, medicines of any kind (vitamins, cough drops, ect.), breakable items (mirrors, china dolls, ect.)
